Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that this newsletter finds you in good spirits as we start the second half of this term. Generally, it is natural to be comfortable with a routine, but when change is required, we look at all the excuses not to disrupt those routines. An American entrepreneur, Jim Rohn, said, āIf you really want to do something, then you will find a way. If not, then you will find an excuse.ā We are also reminded that life is about change; sometimes, itās beautiful, and other times it’s not so beautiful. Continue reading…

Dear Parents and Friends,
The half-term break is upon us, and if you are the parents of a student in residence/boarding, then I am sure that you are eager to have your treasures home, to hug them, and to find out how they are doing. This is a gentle reminder that College resumes on Monday, 28 October, with residential students arriving on Sunday, 27 October. Continue reading...
Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that all is as well as it can be.
Here is an update on JHC matters:
- I am glad to announce that our first Coffee Morning will occur on Saturday, 12th October 2024, from 9:20 to 10:20 am in the Atrium. This is an opportunity to share and exchange information and, more importantly, to get to know each other better. I understand that some
parents cannot attend due to location or other commitments, but this is a start in the right direction. Read more….
Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that all is well.
A quick update on JHC matters:
- The College started well, and our new students are getting used to the routines and rigours of college life. We have about 75 students registered as day scholars, and a soft reminder to parents to ensure that before they leave for home, they are ready for teaching and learning with appropriate uniforms, all gear packed and looking smart. Furthermore, please ensure they do not bring any items classed as contraband to school. Continue reading…..
Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that this newsletter finds you well and basking in positivity.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2024-2025 academic year. Today, the newest members of our JHC community, our Year 7ās, had their orientation, and again, we welcome both parents and students to our JHC family. We are excited to work together with parents to assist our children to reach their full potential and to support them in all aspects of their lives. It is critical to emphasise that both, parents and the college share responsibility for their success, and I would want to solicit your assistance in ensuring that: Continue reading…
Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that this newsletter finds you well and in good spirits.
Assessments have been concluded for the most part, except for the Year 9 BECE examinations, which will start in early July. The Progressive Tests completed recently are online assessments for Years 7-10 students in the core subjects. These accurately measure how our college and students perform in English, Mathematics, and Science and measure both in-year and year-on-year progress. This is a valuable tool as it highlights strengths and gaps in reading and core subjects plus,
ļ· reveals barriers to learning,
ļ· and identifies and supports students with additional educational needs.
ļ· provide evidence of progress, and parents will be supplied a copy of the report.
ļ· directly inform teaching strategies.
Our Year 12 students have now completed the WAEC examinations, and we look forward to the Continue reading

been heard, as most matters mentioned have already been addressed and actioned. The staff
and parents must often meet more to share and discuss, not just through the Academic reviews
