Dear Parents and Friends,

I trust that this newsletter finds you well.

Earlier this week the Federal Government requested that Year 12 students who are preparing for WAEC examinations to resume school from the Tuesday, 4th of August 2020. As such all Year 12 students of JHC needs to make their way to the College to arrive on 4th of August 2020. Once we have received the WAEC examination timetable then we will share with the students.

Transport arrangements to be as usual with flights to be booked via Airpeace for Tuesday, 4th August;
LAGOS – BENIN: 10:45 am
ABUJA – BENIN: 2:00 pm

Furthermore, as we do not know when the examinations will conclude we cannot share the return flight home at this stage. As per practice please share the flight tickets with Mr. Sunday Oloyede, sunday.oloyede@jameshopecollege.edu.ng and Mr. Lekkyes Dadwang, lekkyes.dadwang@jameshopecollege.edu.ng, in order to arrange the airport collections.

It is important to note that we do not have the details about the resumption of the Year 9 students from the Delta State Government, but will share once we have clarity.

Our Year 11 students are in a similar situation as the State Government is yet to approve if they can resume taking classes. However, as shared in the previous newsletter, if they cannot resume then we will register them for IGCSE examinations in May 2021.

Formal examinations (internal) will be done for the Year 7, 8, 10 and 11
students when College resumes, which we hope to be in September.

We still await guidelines from the respective authorities regarding the start of the new academic year, once received, then we will share the dates for the 2020/21 academic year.

In conclusion, “Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved“.
Be safe until we meet again.

Yours truly,
Abraham P. Swart
Principal
