Dear Parents and Friends,
I trust that this newsletter finds you well.

By now, all are aware that the lock down has been extended in Delta State and other states in Nigeria – this is to rein in the spread of the Covid-19 virus. There are notably small increases of infections and deaths in Nigeria but also the good news that some have recovered and were released. The question that faces all governments are, do they lift the lockdowns and risk a second wave of infections, or continue the lockdown with reduced restrictions? Either way, our life, during and post the covid-19 will change as we know it. However, the constant is that we need to continue to do our part as responsible citizens.

In view of the extended lockdown the SLT reviewed and discussed the opening of school and other important events. In essence,
1. The College start to term 3 will now be Sunday, 3rd of May 2020, barring
any changes from the authorities.
2. Teaching and learning will continue by academic staff using emails, Google Scholar, What’s Up and Zoom. Students are encouraged to complete all lessons and to submit assignments in a timely fashion. Parents are to ensure that students are available for these digital interactions.
3. As per future events, The Academic Review Day, Careers Fair and Half-term Break will be confirmed as soon as possible.

And something to reflect on: ‘Whatever we are waiting for – peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance – it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.’
Be safe and may God’s blessings be abundant, and in our abundance, to remember those who are less fortunate than us.

Yours truly,
Abraham. P. Swart
Principal
