Please be advised that we only admit Year 7 students. To be eligible for admission into Year 7, prospective students must be between 10 and 12 years of age by September in the year of admission and have completed six (6) years of Primary Education.

The Entrance Examination attracts a nominal fee and to be eligible candidates, must submit a completed application form with all the relevant documentation and proof of payment.

STEP 1: Complete the Form

Before proceeding, have the following documents available:

  • Photocopy of candidate’s birth certificate or passport data page
  • Two recent passport photographs (taken within the last 6 months)
  • The most recent academic report from your child’s current school
  • A stable internet access
  • Evidence of application fees payment

STEP 2: Assessment

All prospective students will sit the CAT4 test (an accredited international admission test) which provides a good indication of a child’s current attainment levels, but more importantly, reveals a child’s overall ability and potential.

STEP 3: Interview

Successful candidates from the assessment will be notified whether they have been short-listed for an interview. Interviews will be conducted by members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and would take place at the James Hope College premises.
After which potential students will be notified of whether they have obtained an admission offer or not at James Hope College.

STEP 4: Offer Of A Place

If successful, the Principal will make a formal offer of a place, after the final entrance examination date. Scholarship places are awarded on a discretionary basis and not solely on the performance in the entrance examination. We reserve the right to contact the student’s previous school for a reference if required. Parents that decide to accept the offer should respond by agreeing to the College’s Terms & Conditions and paying a non-refundable deposit of which the details are included in the offer letter. Furthermore, admission will only be confirmed upon receipt of a certified medical form and other requisite admission documents.
